South Africa

The level of accommodation that you are expecting is important to consider unabashed luxury or 2-man dome tents. It is possible to combine different levels of accommodation on different parts of your trip; however we are adamant that you have the right expectations for each of the places you go.

Through the cities and countryside options in budget, size, luxury and amenities are available whether it be at Bed & Breakfasts, country homes, beach resorts, Large convention hotels or game and safari lodges. Africa is the place to be for travelers interested in roughing it in style, combining sheer adventure with creature comforts,
getting off the beaten path and experiencing nature the way it was meant to be!

Our safari lodges are located in remote, unpopulated areas and are essentially "hotels in the bush". They can accommodate anywhere from 15 to 200 people depending on their location. Although your accommodation is termed luxury, it can never be a Hyatt in the bush. However, you will be pleasantly surprised by the level of comfort and convenience offered. Hot showers, modern bath facilities, well stocked bars and hearty fresh food are there to refresh after an exciting day of game viewing. Other amenities may include swimming pools, spas and child programs, to name a few. On a "Lodge Safari" you travel from lodge to lodge and do game drives with one of our "driver/guides".

Tented Camps
Once considered rustic many of these camps have changed in recent years to unashamed luxury catering to smaller size groups with maximums of 20 to 30 but usually fewer than 15. They allow more personal interaction with the natural habitat and surroundings. Each camp offers small intimate dining / lounge / bar area together with beautifully furnished, individual tents. You'll sleep under mosquito netting, in rooms with ensuite bathrooms and hot showers. Most tented camps operate from generators or solar power. Nightly campfires and lanterns generate their own great safari-lore! Many of these permanent tented camps are accessed by vehicle or light aircraft, in the case of a fly-in safari you will fly from one reserve to the net reducing travel time and maximizing game viewing opportunities.
